Why I am writing a blog
The benefits of journaling have been discussed worldwide (ex. Benefits of Journaling).
Most authors emphasise the improved creativity and self-reflection aspects of journaling. While we could stop there and always use our journal to record feeling, ideas and, in general, record everything we consider worth analysing, we could take a step further and make some of our entries public.
Like that, a blog is born!
Making our thoughts available for the world to read come with some side-effects: We will become better writers.
If we sustain our blogging habit, we will gain better writing skills, but we could boost our confidence levels and become better communicators in general.
After all, writing is simply a type of communication that people use to exchange thoughts and feelings.
As a result, bloggers begin to see, literally, their writing as a process rather than something written to hand off as a report or to fulfil an assignment. Writers can share germs of an idea and ask for feedback, develop that idea as a draft, and publish a more polished result for readers who have been engaged in watching a piece of writing grow.
You see, a lot of advantages, and if you often journal, the extra step of making some of your stories public will help you grow.
